By the way

No I was not drunk when I typed out the last post. I told you that Blogger was being special! Blogger may cause me to start drinking! ACK!!!!!

begin remodel

This is the wallpaper that I removed...and the dark wall I painted over. The wall paper spanned from the stairwell down to the other end of the kitchen. the little white part you see on this side of the doorway is beadboard. I like it and it stayed.

The wallpaper is down. This is a picture before the Diff came out and the sprayer.

This picture the paper is down and we are about to primer everything.

I will post more but Blogger is being so special that it is driving me crazy. When I decompress I will post more. My advice to you is to keep checking in all weekend here and there. Have a fabulous weekend to each and all!

Red

Take this test at Tickle

Your true color is Red!

What's Your True Color?
Brought to you by Tickle

Your color is red, the color of racy sportscars, blushing cheeks, and luscious roses. Red symbolizes passion, romance, and love. So, since you're ruled by red, you probably trust your feelings more than your brain and tend to act spontaneously. If you see something you want, you go for it without thinking twice — impulsive is your middle name. You don't wait around for people to make decisions, either; you dive right in. Quite the romantic, you pay close attention to your emotions. In fact, if your heart isn't in what you're doing, you won't be satisfied. Of course, even when you do pour all your energy into the projects you tackle, your impetuous nature means your passions can shift as frequently as the wind. That's why some reds have trouble with commitment. Our advice? Next time you're feeling fickle, think before you act, if possible. You might be surprised at the results. Overall, though, it's great to be red. No one lives life more completely than you do.

Kat had this posted the other day and I thought her color was acurate so I wanted to see hwat they came up for me. I am not sure that it is completely accurate but pretty close. I don't think that I am fickle...the opposite really, but see what you think? You all know me right??!! LOL! By the way this just might be a multiple post day!

Painting and a fever

We are finally finished with the painting. I promise that the pictures we be forth coming. I actually have to go get another quart of paint because of the color the paint that was on the wall was so dark, even with primer and two coats it still peeks through. I won't have to trim it out again, Mr. Bubbles did a great job at that, just the main wall, going down the stairwell.

Yesterday the youngest mini bubble awoke, 2 hours after normal waking hours, with a fever of 101.7! ACK! I called the nurse and she got me an appointment for that morning. The doctor came in and checked his ears and throat and breathing and then milked his finger for blood to see if it was an infection elsewhere and found NOTHING! The doctor said it might be rosiola(rose-e-ola). Common in 1 year olds, not contagious, and not treatable. It supposedly is a fever and followed by a rash. Thankfully his fever broke last night and he is eating today. Still tired and grumpy but no fever.

So that is why I haven't been around in like....ummm......FOREVER! Thank you for keeping track and the comments. I am back, I think. LOL!!!!

Weekend update

I wanted to update you all on the progress on the kitchen. Everything is primed and all of the kitchen part is painted. I ran out of steam last night and my arms couldn't roll any more so we called it quits late last night. We have the deep burgundy walls left to paint over. These are a trick because they are going down a stairwell. They are also going to have to have at least two coats of paint on top of the primer because the burgundy is so dark it still shows through.

We are going on a picnic on the first part of today and then when we return we'll finish out the painting. All that will be left is for me to find a wide border to go above the cabinets. I was going to paint over them but when the old border came down I saw it was paneling. I don't like the look of painted paneling so border is going back up. Some that I like, not the large paisley, early 1990 to mid 1990's border that was up. I think I also already have curtains that will go up over the window.

I will post pictures of the progression later in the week....maybe tonight if I don't crash first. I hope you all are having a fantastic weekend and am looking forward to your posts. Until then...

Some answers

Thank you all for the words of encouragement and ideas and lack of ideas for my blog. I am in a better place now and have become creative once again. First things first.... Puffin asked how I did my background, he also mentioned Kat's. Well Puffin, Kat was the one who actually figured it out first and I had her do mine. She and I got on the computer and phone and were surfing pics that I like...what I wanted to convey with my little piece of blogland. I would send her the link and she would do her magic and put it on the site. I then told her the colors I wanted, she was leary mind you, but once she placed them in their respective places they grew on her. We have different tastes completely...I think she is more subdued....color wise...although in person we are the opposite. That is until you get to know us! LMAO! So there you are Puffin. That is how we got our backgrounds. If you would like more info feel free to email Kat....or leave a comment with me and we can figure something out for you.

Has anyone else been having CRAZY dreams? For the past few nights I have been dreaming insane dreams. Some are scary and some are weird. I generally remember my dreams and analyze them....not that I think they mean anything, just for fun. I haven't been eating late or any of the common causes for bad dreams. I think it must be the universe, or maybe my hormones. NO! I am not pregnant, just hormonal, and that is enough info for you all that I only know through cyberspace! LOL!

I am doing my kitchen, yes Kat I am taking pictures. My question for you... Is there any easy way to take down wallpaper, short of tearing the walls down? I am off to the store in a bit to find a blaster gun, suggested by the oldest mini bubble. HELP!

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend and am looking forward to Monday to read all of the antics. I will be in search of a hilarious joke to get you in a good mood. By the way, fellow blogger Anne is having some surgery and I think it would be great if you sent her tidings of joy. Go ahead and tell her I sent you if you want, that is if you haven't already.

At a loss...

I am at a loss for ideas and words. This rarely happens but when it does it happens with gusto. I feel a little sluggish on my HNT's...running out of ideas...I know I know I know...I have only done 10 but I got such a great response in the beginning and then I plateaued. Then there are the posts. I tell memory stories and get a good response on those but I don't want to bog down with the past...the present and future are good too. I don't know really. I don't seem to be getting a feeling from my fellow blog friends out there. What do you want to see? What do you want to hear? What is it that would spice up my blog and get the juices flowin' and the love back?? LOL! I am asking for your help on this guys....I need some honest responses. What do you think...keep it like it is? Change something? Add something? What?

Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Here is a little something to get you off on a good foot!

Bill and Ned walk into a fast food joint one afternoon to get lunch. Bill orders and the cashier gives him his meal. Ned goes up to order and the cashier greets him with "Hello Ned! How are you? Hey everybody! Ned's here!" Everybody in the restaurant comes up and says hello to Ned. After everyone has greeted him, Bill and Ned sit down and begin to eat.
"Ned, you're pretty popular!" says Bill. "I'm the most popular man in the world," says Ned. "Now Ned," says Bill, your pretty popular but you're not the most popular man in the world." "Oh yeah," Ned replies "I'll bet you a thousand dollars that I'm friends with anybody you can name!" "That so?" answers Bill, "How about the president of the United States?" "Let's go!" says Ned.
The two fly to Washington and knock on the front door of the White House. The president answers, "Ned! How are you doing? I haven't seen you in ages!" The three go play a round of golf and then leave. "That was luck!" says Bill, "Two thousand says your not friends with the Queen of England!" "Let's go!" says Ned.
The two fly to Buckingham Palace and, sure enough, are greeted by the Queen. ''Hello Ned my boy! What have you been up to these days?" They enter the palace and have some tea and leave. Frustrated, Bill says, "Double or nothing, you don't know the Pope!" "J.P!" says Ned, "Let's go!"
When they get to the Vatican, Ned instructs Bill to wait outside and Ned will come out on the balcony with his arm around the Pope. After a while, a crowd gathers to hear the Pope speak. And as told by Ned, when the Pope came out, Ned's arm was wrapped around him. Ned looks down from the balcony and see's Bill passed out on the ground. He rushes down and wakes him up.
"Bill! Bill! Wake up!" Bill opens his eyes and says, "Ned. You're the most popular man in the world." "I told you that, Bill," says Ned, "but you didn't faint when I knew the President! You didn't faint when I knew the Queen!"
"Well I was shocked that you knew the Pope," says Bill. "But I just couldn't take it when the guy next to me tapped me on the shoulder and said "Who's that up there with Ned?"

Easter Sunday

I thought that I would please you all today by telling another childhood story of mine. If you ever wanna here something feel free to ask questions and I'll see what I can come up with that relates to me and my childhood. These stories, by the way, are very real. As real as my memory remembers....hmmm...LOL! Ok, so in the spirit of Easter this is when my memory takes up residence today.

As a kid Easter meant several different things. Of course the death and resurrection of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, was up at the very tippy top of the list. My parents made sure that my brother and I never forgot the true meanings of holidays in all the hustle and bustle that the corporate world placed on the events. This does not mean, however, that we didn't dress up for Halloween, or Santa evaded or house, the Tooth Fairy did leave her mark(even though a day late for my brother a time or two), and yes.....even the Easter Bunny came and left us a basket full of goodies. We were kids and raised in a church home but we knew how to have fun.

Dad always had Good Friday off. That is when we would plant our garden, weather willing. We would get up early and eat a big breakfast and then head outside for the day. I didn't mind helping, but usually I was on tasks to fetch things. I didn't really like playing in the dirt ALL day. I know how to plant a garden and tend to it and cook everything that is in it...even can some of it...I am a quick learner but I prefer the flowers. Generally the day would finish with us piling into the truck and heading out to town for a burger and then a milk shake from a local shop in town. Dairy Queen, Steak and Shake, and A&W, can't hold a candle to the Dairy Barn's peanut butter shake. Where were we....the thought of the milk shakes get me distracted. Ah yes...Good Friday. By the way does anyone know why it is called Good Friday? If so please let me in on the information.

Saturday didn't really consist of anything real monumental other than the coloring of the Easter eggs. For some reason we never started early. It was always right before bed. Mom would boil the eggs and take out a dozen for my brother and I to color...the other dozen was made into deviled eggs for lunch the next day, that is if it was Mom's turn to host the dinner. So there my brother and I are coloring eggs and we would always(still do) save one for Dad to color....it was the prize egg for the hunt the next day. As we got older my brother would start to give Dad a run for his money, but I, being Daddy's girl, insisted that Dad's was the prize. My boyfriend, now Mr. Bubbles, even participated...his are generally plaid...I don't know how. If you are sitting there doing math yes we colored eggs through high school...and yes we still had egg hunts! I have never NOT colored eggs the day before Easter.

Sunday we would get up and go into the breakfast room where the Easter Bunny left our baskets. We never had time to partake in many of the goodies because we had to start getting ready for church. We always had a new frock to put on and new shoes...the works. After a few pictures are snapped it is off to church, sometimes we got to wait to take the pictures after church. After church it was back to the house to change and start the wait for the egg hunt. Mom and Grandma would alternate years on who did Easter Sunday lunch, however they both fixed the same thing. Pork loin roast, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, rolls, deviled eggs, and for dessert a coconut cake. I don't like coconut so they would always ice a corner with very little to no coconut just for me. On the years that the dinner was at Grandma and Grandpa's house we would change clothes grab our baskets and eggs and head to their house in the mountains. We would arrive and immediately start begging Grandpa to hide the eggs, Dad would help too. My brother and I weren't allowed near the windows so we couldn't cheat. After the hunt and all the eggs were accounted for it was time to eat! By the way, the finder of the prize egg had bragging rights for the day. Immediately following dinner we all seemed to find a comfortable chair and nap.

That is where I will stop. Sometimes my memories are long and very detailed and sometimes they are not. I don't want you all on overload. Below is last years Easter Day picture of Mr. Bubbles, myself(heavier than I am now) and the two mini Bubbles.

pop quiz

I found this on Kat's place and she found it on Xmichra's...so on and so forth. I thought it was intersting so I took it and here are the results....by the way I had to answer a tie breaker question....apparently I tied with 3 options.

What?

What is wrong with this picture? It took me 3 days to figure out why this picture was bothering me. This is a picture of the lower part of the calendar that hangs in front of my computer. Can you figure it out? Keep in mind that I am telling you something is wrong...I didn't have that luxury.

Happy Monday!

One day, at a bus stop there was a girl who was wearing a skintight miniskirt. When the bus arrived and it was her turn to get on, she realized that her skirt was so tight she couldn't get her foot high enough to reach to step.
Thinking it would give her enough slack to raise her leg, she reached back and unzipped her skirt a little. She still could not reach the step. Embarrassed, she reached back once again to unzip it a little more. Still, she couldn't reach the step.
So, with her skirt zipper halfway down, she reached back and unzipped her skirt all the way. Thinking that she could get on the step now, she lifted up her leg only to realize that she still couldn't reach the step.
So, seeing how embarrassed the girl was, the man standing behind her put his hands around her waist and lifted her up on to the first step of the bus. The girl turned around furiously and said, "How dare you touch my body that way, I don't even know you!"
Shocked, the man says, "Well, ma'am, after you reached around and unzipped my fly three times, I kinda figured that we were friends."

Have a great week!
